From Velo-News:

Michael Diamond, a 63-year-old racer from St. Augustine, Florida, has accepted a two-year doping suspension after refusing to submit a sample during an out of competition test.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced the suspension Friday.

USADA said Diamond refused to submit a sample on October 8. According to the USA Cycling website, Diamond, racing unattached, finished fifth that day in the Florida time trial championships.

In addition to the suspension from competition, Diamond is also disqualified from all competitive results obtained on and subsequent to that date....

First comes the carbon bike, then the carbon components, then the carbon wheelset, then the carbon aero-helmet, then....

Of concern: Lance Andre lives partly in Florida? Also Lance Andre and Mr. Diamond have never been photographed together? Just sayin'.... cpf.

  1. I see no connection to carbon here- In fact, pending photographic evidence I suspect that a 63 year old doper would certainly be riding a custom Ti bike (for comfort, of course).

  2. Actually, the guy has his own "bike company" of relabled Chinese carbon frames; "Diamond bikes". The credentials of him and his brother on the website are funny. Also, I searched for hours for a photo of Lance Andre and this guy together. I could not find one. Seems a little too convenient don't you think.

  3. It is true....Lance Andre and Mr. Diamond have never been photographed together...Tyler Hamilton (as interviewed on 60 Minutes)

  4. Charly- Good work! Impressed with the detective work.

It is sad how many of the recent athletes who have been busted fit this overall profile.

  5. There's got to be a photo of them toghther. Keep looking

  6. ...the sport will never be the same now that this guys been caught cheating...

  7. Just to update everyone, I HAVE moved back to Iowa a couple months ago to flee the doping allegations... a photo of me and said accused doper racing together can be found here:!/photo.php?fbid=1327392426202&set=t.1606943143&type=3&theater Note: I was riding my mountain bike with knobby tires at this USACycling Crit so as to avoid any thoughts that I might be utilizing performance enhancing drugs to win and avoid the drug test.
